Beach
Along the
Great Tropical Drive, three hours north from Townsville, or
two hours south from Cairns lies beautiful Mission Beach. This
beautiful tropical paradise has World Heritage listed rainforest
and the Great Barrier Reef side by side, a holiday destination
found by very lucky travellers. Mission Beach has pristine
rainforest meeting fourteen kilometres of golden beach.
The
rare and shy Cassowary can occasionally be glimpsed as it searches
for fruit in its rainforest habitat. Bird watchers are discovering
Mission Beach is home to 284 bird species, considered more
than anywhere else in Australia.
MissionBeach has
a huge variety of activities to suit every visitor from skydiving
to scuba diving, you can circumnavigate Dunk Island on a jet
ski, surf the waves on a kayak or take a guided kayak tour
of the offshore islands, enjoy sailing, bush walking, great
fishing, discover the local winery or simply relax under a
coconut palm on a golden beach.

at Mission Beach varies from luxury beachfront homes to comfortable
self contained units, elegant four star resorts, romantic B & B’s,
motels, caravan parks and backpacker lodges. With restaurants
showcasing local produce, internet cafes, beauticians, and
boutiques, wineries and galleries and a great Visitor Information
